Due to the large number of teeth engaged and to high teeth height, driving torque is important while rotation speed stay very constant. When gear ratio is optimized, it can reach high rotation speed. It can be selected several feet on the worm. The low rack angle value eliminate toothing error or eccentricity of the wheel.
Available distances axes are between 50 and 500 mm.

OTT worm gears without backlash advantages Driving into rotation through 2 half worms, also known as “splitted worm gear”, a shafted worm, and a hollow worm fixed on the shafted worm. Each half worm drives in only one direction.
Therefore the rear flank of the worm is never touching the worm wheel. OTT designed its shape to offer better strength the tooth and, and evacuate calories.
By limiting thermal dilatation and friction the worm gear structure offer immediate benefits such as better longevity and better accuracy.

- Backlash is easy and fast to adjust. Both gear are axially positioned on the same axis. Then the final adjustment is done by the independent rotation of each worm .
- As the front angle has a low value (around 10°), the backlash can be easily adjusted, reduce to zero or preloaded. · Heat as no incidence between morning and evening. · Wheel concentricity errors are eliminated. · A backlash free adjustment guarantees a very high accurate positioning of the work piece on the machine.
- The teeth height, is around 4 times the module. · High capacity to drive important torque for milling operation, due to large surface of worm tooth into contact with wheel.
